John McCain: Not the Time for Blame….but it’s Dems Fault!

Quote of the day:

“Senator Obama and his allies in Congress infused unnecessary partisanship into the process. Now is not the time to fix the blame. It’s time to fix the problem,” the Arizona Republican said after the vote.

I think boogieman missed the irony of someone saying “It’s not time for blame” and then pointing fingers.

But please explain, in your own words (not Hannity’s) why you think that an overwhelming vote on the part of Republicans makes the failure of the bailout bill the fault of Dems. Wasn’t it John McCain’s mission to bring together support of the bill?

But, in all fairness, I actually think that we might be better off if the bill is refined before passing. Many true conservative Republicans believe that the “invisible hand of the market” is what caused the mess and it should be what fixes it. I give them credit for sticking by their conservative ideals. It’s too easy for one to be “conveniently conservative” when the market is doing well and then be OK with the bailout later.

In this case, however, I think that if a bill is going to pass, it should be something that’s very carefully worded and handled. I think that the regulation portion of the bill is more important than the free money portion of the bill. But the emphasis seems to be on the money.

Anyone more credible than Sean Hannity have thoughts on this?
