Go Team!

I’ve always been somewhat opposed to the team (herd) mentality behind politics.  Nothing irks me more than someone passing judgement on a candidate based on their political party alone – particularly when that judgement is based on false predjudice.  Like many liberals, I’ve been inclined to cheer on a Green Party candidate or two, and have often felt left behind by Dems on occasion (ie. voting for the use of force in Iraq.)

Today, however, a vote for a Democratic Party representative is a vote for balance. A vote for a Democratic Party senator is a vote for repairing damage done over 6 years.  A vote for the Democratic Party today is a first step in the right direction.  Emphasis on the word “first”.

Good luck to people in hotly contested districts who may have to wait extra time in line today or who may find themselves facing intimidation, machine breakdowns, etc.

Hang in there and we can all ride the donkey home tonight.
